
Aamir Liaquat, a former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and renowned television broadcaster in Pakistan died in Karachi on Thursday under strange circumstances, according to local media.
The head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was discovered unconscious at his residence in Khudad Colony and rushed to a private hospital in severe condition.
A scream was heard from Liaquat’s room Thursday morning, according to Javed, a Liaquat employee. From the inside, the room was locked.
His domestic staff busted down the door to his room after receiving no reaction from the other end. Doctors later stated that Liaquat was dead when he arrived at the hospital.
Amir Liaquat’s death prompted police to launch an inquiry.
His home in Karachi’s Khudadad Colony was also searched by the authorities.
The police will also seek CCTV video, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East, in order to gather and determine the facts surrounding the PTI leader’s death.
The police authorities have chosen to conduct a post-mortem because Liaquat’s death occurred under unexplained circumstances.
